The Banggai cardinalfish is one of these amazing animals that found a way to protect their young in a very unusual way. The Male Bangaii Takes all the eggs from the Female after fertelizing them and holds them in his mouth until they hatch. Some Bangaii Fathers even hold them for some time in the mouth after hatching. If the male is being fed well in captivity it will not eat the eggs and keep them until they hatch, a process that can take up to 30 days during which he does not feed.
