Common Name: Spaghetti Worm

Scientific Name: Eupolymnia crasscornis

The Spaghetti Worms live in burrows or crevices and are often of large size, ranging up to 150 millimetres in length and 15 millimetres in width. The numerous, very long tentacles which radiate from near the mouth are used for finding and collecting food particles from the sediment surface. There are roughly 400 known species with the one depicted in the picture being the most comonly seen in the marine aquarium hobby. They are detritivores, the uses organic waste as a food source, hence considered beneficial to the aquarium ecosystem.
