These worms live in tubes that they construct from mucous and sand. They have two white-clear palps that stick out from the top of the structure, these are used to grab small and large food particles. The worm itself is very small reaching a size og 0.5 cm, but its tentacles can be up to 10 times longer than its body. They are found in most reef tanks near the rockwork or in the substrate and are considered good scavengers. some aquarium inhabitants may eat these creatures including the coral banded shrimp.
